Get Beyond the Label is a professional development opportunity for health professionals and service providers to learn about the real issues faced by real people and what it means to be harmfully involved with alcohol, other drugs and/or gambling. This three-day workshop will take place on February 22, 23, 24 from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm at 99 Wyse Road, Suite 1070, in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
Sessions include:
- An overview of harmful involvement
- How do I know if my client is experiencing a problem?
- Pharmacology: information about drugs and alcohol
- A holistic approach to recovery and wellness
- Prevention and community education
- Stages of change and motivational interviewing
