Funding

The Foundation offers:

  • two levels of project funding for community groups across Nova Scotia,
  • grants aimed specifically at Community Health Boards, and
  • research funding to individuals sponsored by institutions

Please Note:

The 2008 - 2009 Community Projects grant competion is now closed.  We would be pleased, however, to talk to you about your 2009-2010 project idea and to assist you, in advance, with your preparations.

NSGF Community Projects I and II Grants:
The first phase of the Community Projects Grant process for 2008 - 2009 is now complete.  Each project application is forwarded to two external peer reviewers for evaluation.  A review committee then meets to discuss the project(s) and make final recommendations to the Board of Directors.

NSHRF Research Grant Funding

The Nova Scotia Gaming Foundation encourages researchers to apply for funding through the Nova Scotia Health Research Foundation (NSHRF).  The NSGF will consider supporting projects that are recommended for funding through this process.  Please self-identify if you are doing research related to problem gambling.
NSGF Research Funding

In addition to funding projects through the NSHRF, the Nova Scotia Gaming Foundation is working on the development of a new research program that will include Student Research Fellowships.  A call for proposals is tentatively scheduled to begin in September, 2008.  Further announcements will be posted on our website and disseminated through universities.

Funding for strategic research identified by the Foundation is also being considered at this time.
