Gambling Awareness Nova Scotia Launched!
18 March 2011

Halifax, N.S. - The Nova Scotia Gaming Foundation announced today it will change its
name to Gambling Awareness Nova Scotia (GANS), effective immediately.

“The name ‘Gambling Awareness Nova Scotia’ is a more accurate reflection of who we are and what we do,” says Celeste Gotell, GANS Executive Director.

Building on the organization’s thirteen-year mission to help reduce gambling harm in Nova Scotia, GANS will continue to provide funding to community groups, Community Health Boards, and researchers to help address and raise awareness of gambling harm.
To accompany its new identity, GANS also has a new online home: TogetherWeCanWin.ca. This web address speaks to GANS’ commitment to increase awareness, support collaboration, and build community capacity to reduce gambling harm in the province.

The Board of Directors and staff of Gambling Awareness Nova Scotia strongly believe that informed dialogue and collaboration can affect change in the community and are pleased to have a name that reflects this belief - Together We Can Win!
