NSGF Welcomes New Board Member from Oyster Pond
24 August 2010

OYSTER POND -- The Nova Scotia Gaming Foundation (NSGF) is pleased to welcome William (Bill) Kilfoil of Oyster Pond, Nova Scotia to its Board of Directors. Effective July 2, 2010, Bill joined the board with three other new members from across Nova Scotia: Shannon Doubleday of Kentville, Paulette Anderson of Plymouth, and James Smith of Amherst.

After spending 31 years in the education sector, Kilfoil recently retired from the Halifax Regional School Board (HRSB). Though he spent most of his career as a school- based administrator, specifically as vice-principal of several schools on the Eastern Shore and Auburn Drive High School in Dartmouth, he spent the last three years of his career as the Coordinator of System Leadership for the HRSB, where he led a group of supervisors responsible for principal evaluation and leadership development.

Says Kilfoil of his new appointment: “Problem gambling is a concern for all Nova Scotians, including our technologically astute young people. I am delighted to be part of an organization that is committed to reducing gambling harm in the province.”

The Nova Scotia Gaming Foundation is a not-for-profit, arms-length government organization that encourages and supports an independent response to problem gambling in Nova Scotia. This is accomplished, in part, through funding to community groups and researchers to help address problem gambling.
